I think House’s is perfect, he gets all the ideas while playing with the tennis balll. A walking stick would be too obvious.

Monk: He is extremely compulsive and cripplingly germ-o-phobic, so a little hair like that would freak him out. Mad Men: A tumbler of brown liquor of some sort, representing the heavy daylong drinking of the characters. House: I don't watch this show myself, but House apparently has a large tennis ball or stress ball of these colors on his desk.

I don’t get Monk, House, or Mad Men. Must be because I don’t watch those shows. Could anyone please explain?
