Collector’s Loft

Collector’s Loft, designed by Texas-based Poteet Architects, is a haven for minimalist design, contrasting elements, and modern decor. The apartment is commodiously clean and warmly comfortable. The floor-to-ceiling windows extract plenty of light to illuminate the purposefully selected furniture pieces. Recognizable classics by Arne Jacobsen and Saarinen are positioned throughout the rooms to provide both inspiration and aesthetic pleasure.

Interestingly, the home’s major furnishings – which include the sofa, bed, and table – are outfitted with a neutral palette; the paintings, accessories, and even flowers, on the other hand, engender bold colors and serve as accents. Overall, there is a harmonious balance between the objects and the space.

  1. I think shapes of furniture and lightings could be more minimal design…

  2. I agree. While the individual objects are themselves minimal, the collection appears too busy.

  3. Random is the word that pops up in my mind. No “red line” to follow and excessive roof lighting. The four photos almost seem like different apartments.

But there are some nice pieces of furniture in there, no doubt about it!

  4. too common !!

  5. I agreee about the collection being a bit busy but then again that’s what I like about it. It’a step away from the strict minimalism into something that I would actually like to live in.
The colours help a lot too in bringing out a warm friendly feeling instead of the cold hard minimalism you often see.

  6. @Gustav I’m starting to doubt this site because of the ventures into non-minimalism. I do not follow minimalissimo for non-minimalism.

I recently tried to recommend and show this site for a friend, and the first this he points out is the fact that minimalissimo does not keep it self strict to minimalism.

Why not make another blog for this sort of stuff? I’m only telling you all this because I LOVE this blog, but it’s going down hill.

“Minimalissimo is a blog that celebrates minimalism. We touch all categories of minimalist design, including art, architecture, graphic design and industrial design.”
