A Model
A Model is a scaled-model in life-size proportion that represents a generic contemporary domestic environment. It is not the representation of a project, but the representation is the project. A Model is a collaboration between Rad Louda and W_RKSH_P (Paul Sosson) with the help of Marie-Cecile Guyaux.
Made out of foam, A Model is a representation of a 150 sqft apartment, organized in 4 parts. The minimal and sufficiently furnished apartment provides basic functions with as added value a personal outside space. Each furniture was conceived as an archetype of its function: a chair looks like a chair, a bed like a bed.
A Model is not an utopy nor a distopy, the designers say. It is a proposal for an one bed apartment, designed as generic as possible. It can be a solution towards the current contemporary housing situation in some cities.

Actually…. this model is about… nothing… but it’s clearence gave me a lot of ideas… any way – thanks, very usfull see it…..
Seems a psychological tool for getting the mind to focus on the purity of shapes therein.
Could be interesting to build an equal structure, but in contrast decked out with full normal usage (normal lighting, normal personal stuff, etc.).
(After perusing hundreds of minimalist architectures, I’m getting starved for depictions of that space being lived in. Architecture etc. forever devoid of use is devoid of purpose.)
I could definitely go for some more humanity on this site as well. Although, I would never really ask that because I do understand the concept the minimalissimo team is trying to continuallypresent, and I respect their right to post whatever the heck they want. The internet is a large network, and I’m sure if I need more humanity in modern architecture I’ll find it somewhere.
