The Colour Clock

The Colour Clock by London based designer Jack Hughes is a downloadable screen saver that represents the time in rotating color with hexadecimal color values. As the 6 digit clock ticks, the background color changes to the corresponding hexadecimal color.

It is simply beautiful!

Follow the Colour Clock link to see it in action. You can also see that hexadecimal value by clicking the button below the time.

  1. This is fantastic. Very clever. Downloaded.

  2. Very clever indeed. Downloaded.

  3. Downloading. Immediately.

  4. No Mac for me, but it’s an awesome screensaver clock.

  5. I am eager to download it. But I use a PC at home and at work. Sad.

  6. HOw is it that I get to see the hexadecimal color code while it’s activated? it seems i can’t do so unless it’s on the website…?

still great concept! specially for the creative area people! (:

  7. Rodrigo, you can set this up in the screen-saver settings on the Mac. There is a ReadMe file with the download.

  8. For those of you windows users that want a minimalist clock screensaver, sans color… and numbers for that matter. I recommend The 1PX Clock. There is a windows version, along with Mac and iPhone versions.

  9. Definitely neat, but not exactly original… There’s at least a couple of iPhone apps based on the same idea.

  10. Really? Can you name them? I’d like to check them out. Originality isn’t that huge of a deal for me. It’s all been done before in different ways.

  11. Derek, try searching the AppStore for Color Time.

  12. awesomeeeee!!
