Ceramic Fan Heater

It’s been getting a little bit colder in Sydney lately, so I decided it was time to get myself a new heater.

In my research, I discovered a few heaters designed by Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa for his brand Plus Minus Zero. Although I opted for the infrared electric heater, I particularly like the cermaic fan heater he designed, which comes in three colours: red, blue and an almost-black dark green (my favorite).

I’m not sure how functional these heaters are, but as objects or sculptures I think it would be hard to deny how beautiful, simple and modest they are.

  1. Plus Minus Zero have some fantastic products. I’d very much like to go on a spending spree there. This heater is a good example of their work. Simple, elegant, functional.

  2. Our family has the orange model. Kept our small Japanese rooms toasty during the winter. A little noisier than I expected though.

  3. We’re ramping up the heat and humidity here in the eastern US, but I’ll bookmark these for September. I’m glad you noted the noise level, knon, since I love ambient white noise at bed time.

  4. Perhaps I am missing the link, but am I able to purchase this heater online for US delivery?
