Philippe Starck designed two Ghost Chairs for Kartell between 2002-2005. They remain to be some of their best selling pieces. The Ghost Chairs are modelled on the classic Louis XVI chair, rendered into transparent polycarbonate ghost-like form. The Victoria Ghost chair is designed for use as a side-chair, whereas the Louis Ghost chair is a bit bigger, and has arm rests.
A very minimalist rendition of a symbolic piece of furniture. Is that a little bit postmodern, too?
I wanted one since I first saw an image of it about seven years ago, and just recently I finally picked up a Victoria in smoke grey on sale at Space Furniture in Sydney.

This chair seems the synthesis of the bedroom scene at 2001, a space odissey. It has a disturbing beauty.
Oh yes, I’ve always wanted one myself…
The best design from Starck, By far.
We have one “Louis Ghost” and it fills the space on its own.
Amazing.
