Nonspace is a series of photographs by UK-based photographer Emily Grundon. According to Emily:
This work depicts several sites that are all considered to be successful and established exhibition spaces - constructed with the sole intention of displaying works of art. Nonspace not only aims to enhance the architectural quality of simplicity, moreover, it is intended that these observations commend the position of the photograph as a document of something that traditionally leads a relatively invisible existence.
I think they’re beautiful and unassuming.

That exhibit should be called “Boring White Cracks”. I love minimalism, but at some point it just jumps off the cliff
Simply light and shape – beautiful.
I have to disagree, I don’t think they’re remotely boring. As architectural studies I think they’re incredibly unique.
I love it.
There are some powerful shapes in the last few pics.
Definitely inspiring for anyone trying to figure out what makes a shape “strong”. (AKA: Me)
I guess inspiration is pretty important. No?
These pics don’t get a lot “done” by themselves, but you can use them for other, greater things if you’re willing to work at it.
Agreeing with Dave here. This is a little outrageous, or lack there of.
this takes me to a place i remember being at once before. all i can remember about this place was that my indifference there was overwhelmingly heavenly.
Trying a bit too hard, are we?
Overall, they are just photographed corners. I understand that that’s what they’re supposed to be (simple, unassuming, corners) but I would much rather see photographs of FILLED space e.g. a subject of any kind — thereby, allowing us, the critics, to critique without trying to have to “get” what you’re trying to convey. And, sorry Justin, but if you were ever in a small white space with only a few corners I’d have to call the men in white coats to bring you back to your padded cell. Dave, Sally, amen.
This is actually very stupid.
This project is actually more to do with geometric shapes and architecture than it is white space. I saw this a while ago posted on Triangulation blog and the info posted there causes this to make more sense.
I really have no idea what some of you are looking for on a minimalism blog. It appears that most of you have completely missed the point of this project, or do not understand what minimalism really is!
Glenn, you have completely contradicted yourself. The subject matter is the space itself! There is no need to fill it simply to humour armchair art critics. Furthermore, the ability to type an ill-informed comment does not make you a critic. None of what has been said has been what I would call criticism. It has been subjective (Dave) or incoherent (V).
As C said previously, there is an expanded synopsis available here http://www.triangulationblog.com/2011/05/nonspace-by-emily-grundon.html and I hope that those who read it may be able to respond with a more informed response than “I think it’s boring”.
For the record, I think they are beautiful.
