Tumbler Alarm Clock

Norm Architects and Menu’s Tumbler Alarm Clock turns the tumultuous business of waking up, on its head. Literally. Through an internally concealed mechanism, once the alarm is activated and sounding, the snooze function can be engaged simply by turning the clock on its head.

Designed by Norm Architects and manufactured by Menu, both are based in the design mecca Copenhagen, Denmark and have collaborated on a number of occasions. Headed by Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen, Kasper Ronn and Linda Kordal, Norm affords an impressive portfolio of industrial design, residential architecture, commercial interiors and art direction. Menu has a similar vastness of work. Collaborating with super talented designers, menu creates objects to be treasured — we want to make the world better, less complicated, a little bit nice to wake up to.

Made from a powder-coated steel and available in a variety of finishes including white, brass and stainless steel, it sits petite at 10cm in height and 8cm diameter. This piece is one that truly combines well-executed form design and celebrates in a new way to engage with our places, and the accompaniments in said places. It’s essentially about injecting fun back into the mundane. Which, if nothing else, is something we should all be striving for.
