Presented at this year’s Salone del Mobile in Milan, Swedish and Kalmar-based studio Jangir Maddadi Design Bureau created the Saddle Chair, which was originally designed for Hamburg-based Drilling—a café, bar, and distillery. The chair has an industrial minimalist appeal, designed to be long-lasting, regardless of trends and seasonal tendencies. Saddle Chair is comprised of powder coated solid metal, with subtle upholstered leather finishes that will complicate any style-conscious space. We invited Jangir Maddadi to provide a little more background to the Saddle Chair design:
I personally never had any ambition to design a chair. Simply because there is already a lot of chairs on the market. Some beautiful and some less beautiful. However, Drilling insisted on a counter chair and a dining chair. It was important that the chair had an industrial appeal combined with the same organic DNA that runs trough my previous designs and the new interior we were working on. A chair designed to last in time regardless of trends, and design that is solid, spacious, and of course, comfy.
Jangir Maddadi Design Bureau provides innovative design for public and private spaces, interior and exterior. Their products are 100% Swedish-made, and before manufacturing their pieces, they scour all of Sweden to find the very best producers with the highest expertise in their fields. Each object has its own story and identity. Since the launch of their first product, they have sought to fulfil their desire to offer freedom to their clients. Freedom to choose, without limitations. JMDB’s designs are neither modern nor classic—they are timeless.
