I have always been fascinated with the parallel that exists between Lighting and Jewellery. Starting from the simple fact of how each piece relates to the human scale: one is designed to be worn on the body whereas the other is made to decorate the space someone occupies. I’m challenged by how the delicate nature of something small can be translated spatially and still manage to retain its preciousness in the way materials are presented.

This is London-based designer Michael Anastassiades describing Arrangements—an exclusive lighting collection created for international company Flos—displayed this year at the Salone del Mobile Euroluce international lighting exhibition.

Made in aluminium and finished in painted matt black, the modular system is compounded by simple geometric light elements that can be combined many different ways to creating multiple compositions.

Balancing perfectly as part of a glowing chain, each unit attaches to the previous one as if resting, in an elegant and original way.
