Born from the collaboration between Montreal-based designer Maud Beauchamp (co–founder of the design venture mpgmb) and ceramist Agathe Palavioux, ONA Necklaces are the surprising result of an investigative foray into a most unusual, unexpected source of inspiration: stethoscopes and other medical equipment.
Despite this sterile, austere reference, the objects have a playfully geometric, even warm aspect, offset by the styling and set design — at once referencing minimalism and the vibrant movement and pattern of the Memphis movement.
All the pieces were hand-crafted in Montreal, using medically inspired materials like powder-coated steel, rubber and polypropylene cord, and are now available at Lowell in Montreal.
