Minimalissimo’s passion is minimalism in design, and although that is our focus, we also understand that minimalism is more than an aesthetic. It can be considered and adopted in many different ways — whether it be how it affects the possessions you own, the way you approach design, how you style your home, how you spend your time, or even how it affects your relationships with others.
We want to contribute to something that goes beyond design, so we have collaborated with The Minimalists and Alberto Negro on a new project called Minimalism Life.
Minimalism Life is based on the idea of living a more focused and fulfilling life with fewer material possessions and fewer distractions. However, what one can possess is of exceptional quality, carefully considered, and draws on minimalist sensibilities.
We worked with Italian graphic designer Alessandro Scarpellini to help us create an identity that represents both minimalism and a simple lifestyle.
The brand design is centred around The Ouroboros, which is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon eating its own tail. The Ouroboros often symbolises self-reflexivity, introspection, or cyclicality, especially in the sense of something constantly re-creating itself, the eternal return, and the phoenix, which operate in cycles that begin anew as soon as they end.
We felt this was a strong basis to build our brand and communicate the message that minimalism contains many ingredients to live a simple, focused, well-curated, and meaningful life.
The project and site will be launching later this year, but please subscribe to the newsletter to be the first to hear about the developments and what you can expect from this hugely exciting collaboration.
