An object that is attractive not only by its form but also by the concept and the meaning of it. PAO is a clock designed by Taiwan-based studio Chiandchi. The pronunciation of the product is similar to "bun" and "telling" in Mandarin. As the designers describe, the final aesthetic of the object was achieved by taking a reductionist approach, trimming the unnecessary elements and keeping the design as simple as possible. The clock is intended to make people focus on reading time itself, detaching themselves from all that makes their mind restless for a moment. Just like taking a little pause every time when we read the clock and stay in the present.

The silent movement and weight (the outer case is made of zinc alloy), allows the clock to quietly and stably remain in a fixed position in any room and tell the time softly but firmly. PAO features a two-tone shell with brass hands and comes in two colours, white and blue.

Personally, I think that the concept is unique and allows for the user to psychologically to value time—their time—more and actually think about the present and not only about the future.
