It cannot get any simpler than this. uusi is a Chicago-based studio with a love of traditional craftsmanship, material exploration and a search for the essential beauty in every day objects, and they've designed these extremely lovely and ridiculously simple Architectural Storage Boxes made of reclaimed old-growth Redwood and Cypress.
The striking grain and impeccable craftsmanship are the most remarkable elements of these boxes. The wood is milled from early 20th century water towers built in Chicago, and the boards are carefully chosen from the 300+ year-old wood for naturally aged characteristics. They're finished with non-toxic, natural mineral oil and each box is handmade at their studio and numbered.
I never thought I'd fall for a wooden box!
