In cooperation with scientists from the Harvard University, French designer Mathieu Lehanneur developed the Bel-Air air purifier... and it uses plants for a filter.
The Bel-Air draws in air from the room, absorbs its toxic compounds through the leaves and roots, and releases the purified air back into the room.
Although the Bel-Air is currently only a prototype, Lehanneur hopes to bring it to the home air purification market somewhere this year.
