Museum Catalogue

graphic design

Focused on luxury tiles with a wide range of finishes, formats, and textures, Museum is a Spanish ceramics brand that wanted a more sophisticated approach for its last year catalogue, looking to head into a more luxurious market.  Multidisciplinary design studio MUT Design were commissioned to take on the art direction, assisted by Spanish graphic designer Jara van Herpt. The studio explains to us:

We decided to keep it simple and elegant, so we did a full redesign of the catalogue and the brand feeling. We picked a monochromatic colour palette and played with the surface textures to create geometric compositions, in an attempt to detach the brand of the commercial feeling it used to have. We kept the design in the inside clean, avoiding unnecessary elements.
What’s admirable on this project are the beautiful compositions that use the basic geometric shapes and material textures, as well as the elegant cover that has a circular cut-out. This has been linked to the interior design of the stand—also designed by MUT Design—finished in gloss varnish to highlight the texture. Brilliant.
