Pinch is a salt cellar and pepper shaker set that brings the experience of adding a pinch of salt to the dining table, Craighton Berman explains. Berman - a Chicago based creative director, designer and illustrator, is the creator of this elegant tool.

Typically a chef keeps a large vessel of salt—known as a cellar—next to the stove, and intuitively pinches portions for their works-in-progress. This direct interaction with the salt was the inspiration for the design of Pinch.

Pinch is made out of 2 ceramic parts: the bottom vessel that holds a portion of sea salt, and the top sphere is a traditional pepper shaker. The sphere acts as a cover for the cellar when not in use.

The 2nd edition of Pinch is available for purchase, after the 1st edition was funded by enthusiastic people on Kickstarter about one year ago.
