German product designer Antje Pesel’s inspiration oscillates between her fascination for everyday objects with reduced geometries and essential designs that still manage to convey emotion. So she creates pieces that are versatile and simple, but always incorporate a surprising twist that’s never an unnecessary decoration or a gadget.

The line Smart Blur is a set of storage boxes in either subdued or very strong colours. The side walls and the bottoms of the boxes are coloured in different shades of the same colour. These shades are perfectly blended by the translucent satinised acrylic lid, resulting in a beautiful display of light. So these boxes are a visual delight, no matter if they are in use or empty.

I’d love for every single everyday object in my flat to be so alluring and worth presenting. The tasks of maintenance and storage would become a real pleasure.
