Pure and reduced design elements have been a prominent feature in modern watch design for quite a while. Leather wristbands and high-end stainless steel watch faces are becoming more and more minimalist. Swedish watch brand TID takes this development one step further by presenting their No.3 TR90 wrist watch. They took the recognisable case design of model No.1 and re-implemented it in contemporary materials which emphasise the minimalist aesthetic even more.
TID Watches has always been about creating a versatile design that can be worn at any occasion. No.3 is a material reset, a transparent celebration of the original form. — John Löfgren, Creative Director at Form Us With Love and co-funder of TID Watches
The casing is made of a Swiss produced non-polluted TR polycarbonate thermoplastic material which is incredibly durable, flexible and lightweight. Its transparent finish, in combination with a pure but colourful face, adds a subtle youthful character to the established design. The white, black, grey, blue, green, orange and pink watch faces can be combined with matching or contrasting silicon wristbands.
To me, this design twist looks retro and futuristic at the same time. It gives any wearer the chance to personalise their style even further, as the No.3 TR90 takes away any reference to a classic styling by still creating an accentuated high-end look.
